Proximity to HLH?

I'm arriving at night in San Jose so it's not worth it paying the price to stay at HLH the first night since there will be no chicas working at 9pm...so the night before I check into HLH I'm staying at a hostel which is in the same general area I believe. The place I'm staying the night before is located at 7th Street between Avenues 9 and 11, is this very close to HLH and within walking distance? Obviously if it is then I can just drag my suitcase over to HLH in the morning and set up camp without need of a taxi.

On another note, you've all been very helpful over the last couple months as I've planned my first CR trip ever. Thanks.

Yes you're a couple blocks away and could walk but why waste a night at a low rent, chica unfriendly hostel to pinch pennies? If you can afford 100/night for HLH why not stay at the HDR or SL there will be plenty of talent working. :? Castillo would be a cheaper option.

Also for what I have budgeted this is what works best for me money wise for the first night...I can't stretch my dinero too far

Yes, there are several hostels near HLH and all are a very short walk away, just a block or two.

The first night I expect you'll want to bring a Chica back to your crib, but otherwise if it's just stretching the dollars, look into http://www.pangea.hostel.com/
Don't know anything about Chica fees or if it's even allowed. It does have a Gulch location and a ton of amenities. Right down the street from Harry's Bar Poas, a CRT Sponsor, for cheap eats, good company and tasty beverages.

I got in at about midnight during a blackout. Guess what I found a place that was open food drinks and girls
Do not write off you first night in town
A Hostel? not for me .There are cheap rooms at LaAmistad Dunn Inn and many other sponsor hotels
Get a membership It will save you some of that money Last trip CRT saved me ate least $150 if not more
Plus there is a great map
Have fun and be nice to the girls It works :shock: :shock:
