Question: How do you feel about Salons that lock their doors

Hi Boys

Just a quick question regarding salons that lock their doors or have somesort of doorbell where you actually
have to wait a few moments for someone to answer the door?
(within a very reasonnable time frame of course)

Good thing or inconvenient thing?

That's a great question and the answer may not be so simple. Here's my take.
If the outside door to the street is locked and the client must wait (even for a short time) for said door to be opened, this will be a definite turn off for the shy amongst us.
If the door to the street is open and there is a second door just inside that is locked, the waiting is much more tolerable as the chance of being seen is greatly reduced.
The big plus to havng a locked door is that once you're inside the place, you feel pretty safe that you won't have your session suddenly interupted by any unwelcome visitors.

The double door approach is by far the best in my opinion.

HG resume it well, as long as I wait unseen, that's fine with me.

But don't make me come in your MP in front of a busy restaurant, even if i'm not waiting at the door, cause you'll never know who's taking a coffee and watching THE door that he wish to go through... Maybe the cheating runs in the familly ! Who knows !!!!!!

I was a little torn ...theres the obvious *security* reason
& then there is my open door concept.

I just feel that its much more inviting to simply walk in and be greeted properly whereas a locked
door leaves a "shady" feeling for whom ever is waiting.

Theres always the question of "Can I rely on my receptionist to greet you on time when I am not here" ???
In a perfect world maybe.

So this is my compromise.

During the day I feel it is safe enough to leave it unlocked, but once it gets dark I think I will lock the INTERIOR door.
(not the one to the building)

So I will count on you to let me know if ever the door is not answered PROMPTLY!

I always get a good feeling when i see or hear the masseuse lock the door to the room we're in. That gives an extra sense of security that no unwelcome visitors can just walk in on us. But it does also keep out welcome surprise visitors. [lol]

You see now, that's what I'm talking about when I mentioned a welcome surprise visitor. There is nothing quite as hot as having a gorgeous, but lonely receptionist or another hot masseuse come in to help with the session, just for fun.

Another way to provide discretion for your clients is to have a back door entrance, if the building has one.

No I wouldnt say scared as I am fully capable of taking care of myself...But when I leave round 4ish
and the receptionist comes in, I was just a little concerned (not knowing the neighbourhood that well)
that it might be more prudent to have the door locked for the girls.
Im new to this business & Ive been hearing a few horror stories of like 10-15 yrs ago how certain parlours
in certain neighbourhoods were prone to pretty scary experiences. So that may be the slight moment of paranoia that came across...

One thing remains though no matter what you do in life and that is

"better safe than sorry! "

I will also say that i am quite pleased with the Gentlemen that visit my salon as they are for the most part quite nice & charming!
Just thought getting your opinions would help clarify my decision process ;-)

I have to agree with Stranglehold and others. Your place lends itself very easily to a locked inner door.

As a client, I would not only not mind at all, but would welcome the added security.

I have no problem with a locked inner door. But there are salons I've stopped going to because the street door is left locked and I have to stand on a busy street waiting to be let in.
