Quitting Smoking With Accupuncture.

Does it work?

I'd just like to know because i'm dying to quit, really badly.
I've not tried yet, but i have tried a few times before and failed.
Simply no willpower whatsoever!

Anyone ever had it done or know someone that has?

A friend of mine quit a few years ago using acupuncture but it does not take away all of the cravings - will power is still required! I gave up 5 weeks ago after having hypnotherapy - again, it did/does not take away the cravings but makes it easier to deal with them.

The day that someone comes up with a method of stopping smoking that stops the cravings and everything is the day that someone becomes wealthy! As far as I know there is no easy way to do it. I am sure you will get lots of stories about people who gave up and it did not bother them - these are the lucky ones! I know people that fall into this category too.

Agreed with Graham that will power was still required to quit smoking.

I started smoking at the age of 10 and quit at the age of 22. If you decided to quit smoking, you MUST have the determination to do so.

It is possible to quit smoking NOW!

There's always some willpower required because if you don't have the will to quit then you won't.

Meridian therapies such as EFT, TFT, FREEWAY-CER etc. are sometimes referred to as "Psychological Accupuncture without the needles".

I know such therapies can work wonders for helping people stop smoking, so I can only assume that because accupunture also works with the meridians it can also be beneficial, assuming it's used in the correct way (which applies to any therapy).

There are some good threads in the Addictions forum and also the Mind Therapies forum relating to giving up smoking. A quick search should yield some good results to browse and gain advice.
