school suggestions...????

hello all,there seem to be so many different types of energy work, but not many schools that are devoted only to ENERGY.  i know of barbara brennan and people have started schools off of her teachings that includes their own...has anyone heard of the institute of healing in ct?  has anyone attended the school by barbara brennan in florida?  does anyone know of any other schools?OR do you suggest attending a massage school that offers energy courses?  do you know of any good ones? (i don't have a massage license)i have reiki 2 and use it, but i feel pulled to be immersed into an intensive course, to learn more...so many questions...thank you so much for any input you might have....all the best!

PRI is now joined with Spa Tech, so I'm not sure how that presently affects the cirriculum.

(Not sure if I quoted correctly, but hopefully it worked)

Anyway, I just wanted to add that I atended the same school as Robin,(Plymouth, MA campus) except now it's known as Headhunter Spa Tech Institute. Most people still associate it as (formerly) PRI.

Still a very good school and the the cariculum (sp) is the same. You chose either Deep Tissue (therapeutic) or Holistic (Polarity). But it's very true, the energy training is present throughout the entire education. I went the DT route and am happy with my decision, although I'm always looking for more info on the enrgy side of things. I still have the option to go back for the Polarity training and the same goes for those wishing to continue with the DT training.

They also offer training for just Polarity Practitioner. I'm not sure on the hours, but I know that it takes longer than the 600 hour MT training. I think that they have the option to add the Swedish massage training or not.

Good school, and I highly recomend it. If you live in Maine there is a campus there in S.Portland also. I highly recomed that campus too.

The Southwest Institute of Healing Arts in Arizona is based on energetic modalities and you can work towards massage certification if that is an important piece. They offer Reiki, Polarity, Crystal healing, color therapy. I think they have a wider variety than other schools out there. you might check them out at http://www.swiha.org. And if you have questions, you can IM me.

Barbara Brennan School of healing is all about energy work.  There are 4 years, each year consists of 4 or 5 - 7 day workshops (or there abouts).  There is one in Florida and one in Austria.  I see a graduate of the school for help with just about anything and everything.  You don't have to do all 4 years consecutively.  You can take a break between them or just do one, or 2 or 3 years only.  I've talked about her books before.  Hands of Light and Light Emerging.  There are also 3 day workshops that are done to help people get an idea of what the training is all about.Search on her name and the website will come up.

A classmate of mine attends the Barbara Brennan school here in Fla, she has definitely given it a thumbs up. However, she is getting her LMT at Florida College of Natural Health, which also offers a multitude of learning and continuing education in Fla.
