A Shelby Township man has had his massage therapy license suspended because of criminal sexual conduct charges, state officials said Friday.

On Aug. 13, Nathan Isaiah-Nelson Weems pleaded guilty in Macomb County Circuit Court to two counts of third-degree criminal sexual conduct and six counts of fourth-degree sexual conduct, according to the Michigan Licensing and Regulatory Affairs Department and court records.

Weems is scheduled to be sentenced for the crimes on Sept. 25, records said.

Criminal sexual conduct in the third degree is a felony punishable by imprisonment for not more than 15 years. Fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct is a misdemeanor punishable by up to 2 years in prison.

Officials said Weems worked as a massage therapist at the Namaste Massage and Spiritual Wellness massage parlor in Shelby Township.

LARA officials said in its complaint against Weems that he was performing a massage on a 54-year-old woman between 3:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. on March 5 when he placed her hands on his genitals and touched her breasts. Weems later admitted to investigators that he placed the client's hands on his genitals.

Later the same day, Weems performed a massage on another female client and did the same thing, authorities said. He also touched the 57-year-old woman's genitals. The massage therapist also admitted to the actions to law enforcement, officials said.
