While we're on the topic of Sheppard and Yonge - a little east along Sheppard, south side, white house, sign in Chinese and English. English sign reads Go Game Club. Anybody have any idea what this is?

Oriental two-player game played with black and white stones on a grid.

Object is to capture as much territory as possible.
Surround opponent's pieces to remove them from the board (I am simplifying here).

If chess is war, then go is about market share.

A simple deriviative game is Othello/reversi.

North of the go place is a massage parlor.

The door opens onto a busy strip on Sheppard- this is a bit of a draw back.

It was a little strange experience inside.

There was a mama-san that did the massage- late 30's or 40's. When the massage part was done she has some younger women to do the finish and scrounge for tips.

The price for the massage was standard- and then the mamasan charged a fee for brining in the girl for the finish ($20 i think it was) and then the finishing girl asked for standard rate tips.

The finishing girl also wanted to give the impression that you give her a small tip. One would suspect the mama-san tries to take a percentage from her.

I found it to be a weird system.

I've been to this joint several months back. Very small place. Mpa was quite attractive, but wouldn't do any extras. She sent in another girl for the finish (which is a first for me).
