Two women were cited Monday evening at a massage parlor in central Fresno after soliciting undercover detectives, the Fresno County Sheriff’s Department said.
Detectives raided Massage Angels near Shaw and Maroa avenues after a six-month investigation into complaints of sexual solicitation and disturbances at the business, Lt. Matt Alexander said in a news release.
Detectives served a search warrant and found two male customers and four female masseuses in the massage parlor. Two of the masseuses, ages 22 and 26, previously solicited undercover detectives, Alexander said. They were cited for prostitution and released at the scene.
The two male customers and two other masseuses were released after detectives determined they committed no crime.
Detectives said they didn’t find any evidence of human trafficking at the massage parlor, but it’s common for those business to be linked to the trade. The news release said the sheriff’s office Vice Unit is committed to protecting human trafficking victims whenever possible.
The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact Detective Mike Hernandez at 559-600-8423.
