The Tennessee Board of Massage Licensure has summarily suspended the license of Christian Wells, a resident of Murfreesboro, Tenn. The suspension became effective October 3, 2017. As a result of the summary suspension, Wells was immediately prohibited from practicing as a licensed massage therapist in Tennessee.
Wells had been employed as a licensed massage therapist at Massage Envy in Brentwood. The board investigated Wells after learning of accusations of inappropriate sexual contact allegedly committed in the course of a massage performed at the facility.
Wells was originally licensed to practice as a licensed massage therapist in Tennessee May 5, 2016. His license will remain suspended pending the outcome of a contested case proceeding in the matter. The Tennessee Board of Massage Licensure has the authority to summarily suspend a license if it finds public health, safety or welfare imperatively require emergency action.
