Our Grand Strand News Alliance partner WPDE reports that one of the massage parlors at the center of last week’s prostitution arrests in Surfside Beach has attracted police attention before.
The Palm Massage parlor, located at 520 US Highway 17 Business, was previously investigated by the Horry County Police Department for prostitution, Surfside Beach Interim Police Chief Kenneth Hofmann told WPDE.
Hofmann said that investigation took place in December 2016 or January 2017.
Krystal Dotson, a spokeswoman for HCPD, said Tuesday she was unable to confirm the investigations because she was out of the office for the July 4 holiday.
Palm Massage was closed Friday and Monday during its normal business hours, WPDE reported. The Sun News was unable to reach the parlor by phone on Tuesday.
Of the other two massage parlors busted for prostitution, one was closed on Monday and the other was still open for business.
