Suzanne Enzer

Does anyone have Suzanne Enzer's book on Maternity Reflexology? I've done some web searches and it seems very difficult and expensive to get hold of. According to Bookbrain the RRP is £25 but I've seen it on sale for £55! Does anyone know of any other good books on Mat reflexology?

hi siobhan,

i have the manual. yes it is expensive and i got it cheaper when i did the course last summer. i had already got hold of the first book she did, a small not much bigger than A5 which was mostly illustration but not much instruction and i found the course definitely was great for understanding.

i got the small book through adebooks. they traced it to the australian stickists and they shipped it over for about £2.50!! total cost was about £9!! was i chuffed <g>.

I've got the Manuals from her course but also found it difficult to get the 'Maternity Reflexology' book. I do have her cards which for quick reference are great.

PS - she did say she is going to make manuals 1 & 2 into her next book, that at the moment her daughter is working on the illustrations.

Hi Rosie - absolutely - loved it - much info & experience that i would just never find unless working alongside a midwife... and plenty of preganat ladies
Plus this may sound mad - but ah , it was lovely as i experienced a whole new perspective/thought as her business name is also a play on the sole to soul .. but hers meaning the new little soul entering - whereas mine was always reflecting /reaching in essence the true self, the soul searching discoveries etc ah bless . I thouhgt now it can mean either.
She is a lovely lady, I really enjoyed learning about the hormones & the way she does it.
Not tooooooo sure about the use of nails :O

I decided to travel daily in the end - parked near Waitrose. Great time.
Wish I'd booked for the Newcastle course though as it was about 100 pounds cheaper !! Plus i then couldve stayed with my folk & had a little holiday !

I can't wait to go on Sue's course. I missed out on this years Scottish course I am keeping my fingers crossed for next year. With only 12 places it is every reflexologist for themselves!
Does anyone know if she has a website? I forgot to ask her the other day.

Did you see Yala that she's doing a course in Newcastle this month? Don't know if that's any good to you. How did you get in touch with SE? I've been looking but I don't think she has a website. Pre, did you do the Raworth course? They're sending me their prospectus, this is my plan B in case our local AOR group doesn't get to do training with Suzanne.

I got Sue's timetable from the SIR, and I have phoned and left a message with the person in charge of the Newcastle course. I doubt there will be places left but it's worth a try. I've spoken to Sue via email, but she is really busy moving house at the moment, and couldn't give me any details about courses. She said it would be better if I contacted the course organizer directly as they would know more about it than her. I don't think she has a website, I'm sure I would have heard about it if she did!

I'm just back from the SIR group meeting, and they were all chatting about her course. I can't wait to go on it! I'm all nice and relaxed now after some reflex and reiki

I'm doing the course in Newcastle on June 26th and 27th - I think I got the last place but I'm not sure. I was supposed to be on the Preston course in May but it was cancelled.
I've got a list of the places where Suzanne is teaching this year and the names of the course organisers. It's in 2 parts - you do the first part then after at least 6 months and I think 5 case studies you do the 2nd half. If anyone wants the details please feel free to PM me.

I did the Maternity Reflexology Part 1 course in Newcastle last weekend. It was excellent, exactly what I expected - I would thoroughly recommend it. Not too sure about her use of fingernails either though I can't see me using that particular technique much. Love the endocrine balance and lymphatic techniques - I think that would make a good detox treatment.
Good news for those looking for the book - Suzanne has put both parts 1 and 2 of the Maternity Reflexology Manual together in one book - it's at the publishers now so should be available soon. I don't know what the price will be but hopefully it'll be cheaper than the older version. The cards which she sells look very good too but I think £30 for a set of recipie style cards without a case is a bit steep.
Suzanne has just moved back to England so hopefully her courses will be a bit easier to get on iin the future.

thanks for that and i am glad you liked the course. yes, i use the endo balance and lymph drainage in regular work.

no, i havent done Pt 2... i have found it extremely difficult getting my hands on enough pregnant feet. pregnant women seem well protected by midwives and GP's and also, i think many are reticent because of all the misinformation regarding reflexology and possible miscarriages! when i have worked on them, i have found it so interesting and fascinating but i dont have enough case study material. a supply of one offs but not enough regulars. they want induction and then disappear with their new babies!

i regularly contribute to a forum with pre conceptual women and pregnant women and its driving me crazy!!! i feel like some demented evangalist or advertising charlatan... i want scream at them TRY REFLEX, and more than once!!! sheesh. still as i said and someone else said... fight the good fight and keep chipping away!!

I'm doing part one of her course in two weeks' time in London. Really looking forward to it. I've been using her book to help with my clients with good results, but it will be a lot easier when I've had "proper" instruction and a chance to talk through the library of questions I've built up since I started.

Poor woman will probably be sick of me after the first hour[8D]

I am a new member to Healthypages, so bear with me!!

I have just qualified as a reflexologist - very exciting - but am also a midwife.

I have been unable to get a place on one of Suzanne's courses so have been in touch with her to see if she would put on an extra course for us in South Wales.

She has very kindly said that she would be willing to do this, but we need to have the numbers interested before we can go ahead and book some dates.

Her book is now available (Maternity Reflexology Manual) though they are just hot off the press. I believe Tao of Books are going to stock it.
