Undercover Activity in Toronto

For a long time I had not heard or read anything about this activity.
Today I was at a MP and was told that a few hrs before 7 undercover cops (!!!)burst into the place and were very rude with their questioning checking everything possible. One girl had just finished with a customer. They could not find anything wrong and left with the warning they will be back soon again. This scared the girls especially their rudeness. I wonder is this a new campaign or ??? Why 7, usually only 2 or 3 cops.
That's how our taxes are spent and raised again soon. Disgusting.

If they rousted the place and identified themselves, then they weren't undercover, just plainclothes (or were they wearing uniforms, too?).

An undercover operation would be a big deal. It would also be totally secret until arrests were made.

If it was done to check for underagers, or unlicensed individuals who may not entirely want to be there, then yep I am glad our tax money is being used for that.

I'm not implying that was the reason behind what happened yesterday or that it condones them being rude.

But not all police interference in this industry is unwarranted if they are trying to clean up the crap that makes us all look worse then we are.

I agree with Maurice. Maybe somebody complained. This is a regular spa fairly strict limits from what I know.

I am not 100% positive on this, but in most cases ...

They don't need one if a bylaw officer brings them along.

If it was "undercover" or something prearranged then a warrant would be obtained to make sure that all areas are covered within the search.

BTW ... the minimum is usually 2 bylaw officers, at least one male officer and at least one female officer ... that makes 4 if a place is to be raided.

I good friend of mine's brother is cop who did the MP circuit for a while (nice job eh - all on the taxpayer's bill)

The one thing that can tip off a girl that she is dealing with a cop is that he will try and trick her into revealing what she will do and for how much.

These guys can not ask for a specific service, they have to get the girl to suggest it, or offer it up and for a certain price.

He stated that some girls are very wise and if they are dealing with a customer who is very coy, they just know they are dealing with a cop. Some other MPA's however, aren't that in tune with the fact that they are dealing with a cop and spill the beans without even being asked.

Bingo.

I am all for the cops keeping the underage girls out of this profession, but that's about where it ends. What two consulting adults agree to do behind closed doors is no-one's business but their own.

The thing I do find funny about the whole cop undercover thing in the MP business is why they don't do undercover in the male / male massage parlors, or in the bath-houses.



Then again, the gays would go insane if they got busted for something straights take lying down (no pun intended).

Thats because the gay community keep to themselves....all the gay stuff goes down in gay areas where nobody cares anyways... if they set up shop in "general population" (like the hetero geared services) they would definitely hear it

Well you have to look at history ... it was done before, the bathhouse raids of the 80?, and the outcome was that the LE had it's tail between it's legs and was apologizing left right and center.

If done today ... well with a couple of politicians who are actually openly gay and a few others who are pro-gay rights ... the outcome would be pretty much the same. Then factor in Pride week and the tourism $$$ that could be lost ...

You don't say? It's a ridiculous double standard. Zoning has absolutely nothing to do with it. The cops don't mess with gay sex biz because they're scared to. The gay community will knock them on their collective ass faster than they know what hit them. Why? Because the gay community had nothing to lose back in the day. The result of the bath house raids was that cops now leave gay people alone - because they know if they didn't, the gay community would not hesitate to be in their face. Cops harass the strip clubs and massage parlours because the clientele of those places, (us), is to scared to go public with protests.

Was at a place in scarb today, saw a little wireless display, like a ipod but with a screen and wireless cam was set up at front door... I assumed the menu was fairly extensive from that alone and was right. Too bad its always older chubby asians. Either way a good time for $40 d/f and only $30 tip.
