JUPITER POLICE SAY THE TOWN’S PLAN TO IMPROVE SAFETY CONSISTS OF THREE STEPS. PREVENTION, ENFORCEMENT AND DIVERSION. OFFICIALS SAY E-BIKE TRAFFIC STOPS WILL NOW BE ENFORCED WITH A WRITTEN TRAFFIC WARNING OR A CITATION. SEVERAL BRUSH FIRES CONTINUE TO BURN HERE IN FLORIDA IN SOUTH MIAMI-DADE. A BRUSH FIRE SHUT DOWN A CRITICAL ROAD IN NORTH KEY LARGO. IT HAS BURNED OVER 25,000 ACRES. IT’S 30% CONTAINED. IN VOLUSIA COUNTY, THE HONEYDEW FIRE HAS GROWN TO MORE THAN 300 ACRES. IT’S NOW 80% CONTAINED. WELL, THE 67 YEAR OLD NURSE WHO SURVIVED THE BEATING BY A BAKER ACT MENTAL ILLNESS PATIENT AT PALMS WEST HOSPITAL, IS NOW AT A REHAB FACILITY IN JACKSONVILLE. LILA LAL HAD SURGERY RECENTLY TO REPAIR ALL THE BROKEN BONES IN HER FACE AND FRACTURES TO HER SKULL AND CLAVICLE. WE’RE TOLD SHE HAS SOME LIMITED VISION IN HER LEFT EYE, BUT SHE STILL CANNOT SEE OUT OF HER RIGHT EYE. WE HAVE IMPACT WEATHER TODAY.
