WEST MONROE, La. (KNOE) - Update: 3/21/2018 10:00 am

Arrest records indicate that authorities executed search warrants at three locations in West Monroe. Those same records name the two businesses police say were involved. As we previously reported, one is "China Massage and Spa" on Blanchard Street in West Monroe (It's across the street from Hobby Lobby, IHOP and Office Depot.) The other is "Shangri-La Spa" at 1408 North 7th Street. The third was for a residence.

Here are further details regarding the charges against some of the suspects.

Yuanqiao Han - She is listed as the owner of Shangri-La Spa. Police say Han rotates her employees from this location to another location in California.

Lijuan Yang (AKA "Grace") - Police say she ran the day-to-day operations of China Massage and Spa on Blanchard Street in West Monroe. They say she also owns the vehicle that transported employees to and from work.

Haiyan Liu (AKA "Linda") - Police say she was scheduling appointments and conducting illegal massages as China Massage and Spa.


Han Yuan Dong is accused of scheduling appointments for illegal massages at Shangri-La spa.

Police note that several "illegal massages" took place during undercover operations. It's unclear whether anyone who received an illegal massage was arrested.

Police have arrested a fifth suspect, 44-year-old Yuanqiao Han, charging her with pandering and promoting prostitution. Police say Han is listed as the owner of Shangri-LA Spa.

ORIGINAL STORY:

Four people were arrested and two massage parlors were closed after West Monroe Police say they were involved in a prostitution ring.

WMPD say their seven-month investigation concluded today when they executed warrants on China Massage and Spa on Blanchard St. and Shangri-LA Spa on North 7th St.

Police have arrested 37-year-old Lijuan Yang, charging her with one count of promoting prostitution, one count of prostitution by massage, and one count of criminal conspiracy.

They also arrested 45-year-old Haiyan Liu, charging her with prostitution by massage and criminal conspiracy. Forty-two-year-old Han Yuan Dong was also arrested and charged with criminal conspiracy for his role.


WMPD believe they've also arrested the ringleader - 45-year-old Haiping Sun. She's been charged with pandering and promoting prostitution.

Police say they expect more arrests to follow in the coming days.
