Walking tours and MP closures

Are the walking tours causing these closures?

That is so very unlikely. A half dozen gringos walking around SJ a couple times a week probably goes unnoticed for the most part, except in the MP's they visit. The TV news crew obviously did a bit of research but I saw no footage of any walking tours.

If someone with enough influence to cause numerous police raids had a problem with the walking tours, don't you think they'd simply start to harrass the tours themselves?

The way this situation has been handled so far (closures and code violations) would favor the media event/soliciting payoff scenario.

No The TV did an expose about a MP which did not have the proper permits. Or were not in compliance with the permit.

The authorities then felt obligated to make sure the others were in compliance and many closures resulted. I walked by alot of the ones closed today and most were doing some construction.


All the actions have been civil not criminal except in the La Uruca case a month ago.

Most will reopen in time and I expect they will hit the south side of town next.
