what are the hours for the bar at Sportsmen's?

Usually closes at around midnight. Soimetimes a little later in the crowd is still going strong. There is always a bartender there by 8 AM for you early starters.......

it will be winding down there, fast after you get there and you will probably end up at HDR. but that said it is unpredictable, I have seen them packed on a tues nite.

yes, it will be but bring lots of booze. Does anyone know if the fact that you cant buy booze affect the duty free when you arrive at the airport?

DS - As always, play it as it goes ! You will be there much earlier than 11pm though. Good Luck and enjoy ! Just hop a cab that is waiting out front to the DR or KL (preferably) and you will have no problems.... :twisted:

reply to the booze purchase ..it is very cheap and you can buy it either way arriving or leaving, but the hours of operation I cant recall ,maybe 10pm they have a great list

The question posed was are the Duty Free shops subject to the no alcohol sales during the Presidential election.

I have no good info on that but would imagine they may restrict sales to inbound passengers. As you know you have to give your flight number and passport when you buy so easy to enforce sales only to outbound passengers.

Arrived Late Last Wednesday for 48 Hours about 11:50 PM flight was delayed and to my amazement the Duty Free Shop in the baggage area was STILL OPEN! I asked the two guys there and they explained unless its going to be rediculously late that they remain open in the baggage pickup area until all the flights have landed for the day..... So regardless of your time Duty free in the baggage pickup should be open.

SIDE NOTE, Both guys were clueless as to if they would be open during the 4th & 5th during the dry time for Elections. They just gave me the Yo no Se response. It may have something to do with being "INTERNATIONAL" duty free, but they did not know the answer so at leat until midnight on the night of the 3rd you should be OK to purchase liquor at the airport.
