What does it take to open a MP ????

Really, what does it take?

Sure, you have to lease a place, fix it up and pay for some ads. Also, you need a license, a phone line and some employees.

Start up costs?? Maybe $10,000 max.

Other than that, isn't it just a matter or promoting the place and having the same little bit of good fortune that any other business in any other industry needs to survive and thrive??

Just curious to hear some thoughts about this. Also, am I the only one who's wondered about this??

The most viable option would be to buy an existing licensed MP and turn it around by hiring better girls, having a (better) website, providing better customer service, cleaning/renovating the place etc. SRM is a good example of a turn-around situation.

The problem with starting up an MP today is that many towns and cities have now enacted bylaws prohibiting body rub parlours let alone licensing new ones. Vaughan's landlords have also been warned that they may face criminal charges for allowing a tenant to operate a body rub parlour on their property. Oshawa only allows two locations and one of them doesnt have the space to put anything on and the other requires the tables be visible from the front door.

You need an understanding landlord, good neibours, a great lawyer, stamina (those long hours at the beginning), receptionists you can trust with money, PR skills, and a crop of reliable girls.
