When in our evolution was the soul introduced?

Question for those who accept evolution as fact, but believe in an eternal soul:

When in our evolution was the soul introduced? Since you accept evolution, you know that when we analyze the fossil record, our naming system is arbitrary, in that we put species with similar traits together. The dividing line between many hominid species is just for ease of classifying (this classification system is justified, but still arbitrary). There isn't a moment in a species' evolution where it's species X, then it has a baby, then the baby is species Y.

If we could watch the evolution of Homo sapiens, we'd notice that each child, of one of our ancestors, looks exactly like its parent, a little less so than it's great-grandparents, etc. Only over a macro, lengthy bit of time would we notice a general shift in the appearance of the species.

The choice to call one fossil Homo sapiens and call another fossil species Z is pure choice, and not how evolution actually occurs

If this makes sense, and I hope it does, when in our evolution was the soul introduced, knowing the fact that our ancestors were not Homo sapien (humans), but a different species altogether (as we'd classify today)?

"...if God truly made a first pair of humans by a special act of creation, it is possible that he "reset" their genetics to make it "safe" to practice incest at least for the first several generations. God could even have given them "low probability" genetic combinations at first to prevent problems.

In one of his Lazarus Long novels Robert Heinlein describes a brother and sister of the same parents who share NO genes in common. They each received half of their parents genes but none from the same half. Now there are a virtually infinite number of combinations you can make like that from just two parents. And then you can get variants where only 0.1% genes are held in common and any fraction in between that and 100%.

That may be how God did it in the beginning. This would take several generations of miracles, but it would royally screw up all the attendant probabilities. None of the scientists takes this possibility into account.

And then we need to be frank. We know very little about human origins. It appears that BIOLOGICAL humans of some kind have been around for about 2 million years give or take). BIOLOGICAL Hom0 sapiens has been around for ~130,000 years. But there is something very strange that happened between 70,000 and 30,000 years ago. H*mo sapiens became an artist, a linguist, a complex tool maker, a religious believer, a member of a society with family structures and pair-bonds, and several other things that distinguish him from the BIOLOGICAL humans that came before. Was this new kind of H. sapiens not only BIOLOGICALY human but newly made as THEOLOGICALLY human?

And after that happened, the other species of man all died out and were replaced by the New Man. So if THEOLOGICAL humans arose not from pre-humans but WITHIN a BIOLOGICALLY human community in which they kept to themselves, the issue of Polygenism becomes moot.

These are just some of the possibilities.

Another note on Dr. Collin's book. He warns that a Fundamentalist literal reading of Genesis is dangerous because when a naive believer discovers the overwhelming scientific case for evolution, it can endanger his faith. Well, here we are! What he predicted has happened.

The problem is neither in science or religion but rather in a type of religion that does not respect the important distinctions between science and theology.

Humility is the point to be taken. We are not asked by God to understand all things but rather to believe in some things. Sometimes belief is easy. Sometimes it is hard. That is why one must have a prayer life and devotions to keep one properly in touch with God and His providence.

Evolution is a "home made" theory.

According to archaeological finds, the man (homo sapiens) originated in North Africa about 160 thousand years ago. It is understood that it was when God created man in His image and likeness, however Adam was formed 100 thousand years later on Eden. This fact was recorded in the DNA of man through mutation of the FOXP2 gene, the gene responsible for speech.

In the first chapter of Genesis reports that God created life on Earth, but in Genesis 2:5 reports that on Eden there was no plants, there was no men and there was not animals. Then God formed man (Genesis 2:7), the animals (Genesis 2:19) and also formed a garden (Genesis 2:9). Were not living species that God took to Eden, but stem cells or embryos to develop genetically on Eden.

The Bible is symbolic. Just as God formed woman from the rib of Adam, man on Eden was formed from the dust of the earth, i,e, from the cell containing the Y chromosome and mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) of the native man on Earth. Adam's rib may be related to Adam's chromosome. It is understood that God made use of genetic engineering to form the man and woman on Eden.
