Why doesnt this girl talk and chit chat with me?

There is this guy in class who sits in front of me. Im actually a little focused on her because she is sexy and attractive. And her voice is hot. Im kind of an attractive person....im much shorter than her.

She sits next to me but doesnt say a word, but the next day she sits across the guy in front of me and just starts talking to him like nothing. He is just as shy as i am....so i really dont get it. Is it because she is white and he is dark and taller than me. Im short here...im just 5'5''. She is probably like 5'7'' or 5'8''. I will admit that i am shy but she probably is not attracted to me right....even though im focusing on her. Should i talk and if i do....what should i say? Could someone explain her behavior? Does she simply dig the other guy and not me?
