The city of Winter Park is looking to limit the hours of operation at massage parlors within city limits.
The proposal, which will be voted on at the May 7 Planning & Zoning Commission meeting, would limit the hours of operation from 7 a.m to 10 p.m., unless the parlor is within a hotel. The ordinance would impact at least two establishments, according to documents from the city: Asian Massage Inc. of CX at 2018 W. Fairbanks Ave. and Spa 33 at 2301 Lee Road.
Calls to both weren’t returned before deadline. Calls to the city weren’t immediately returned either.
The ordinance seems to be in response to the Florida Legislature passing restrictions on massage parlors statewide with HB 7005. That bill also requires that a massage parlor business can’t be operated as a domicile as well.
