25th December 2024 – (Hong Kong) A woman in Beijing has expressed her outrage after discovering that a video of her receiving a nude massage was uploaded to social media by the owner of the massage parlour. The footage, which included uncensored images of her and two friends, was shared on the owner’s WeChat moments following a spa treatment last month.
According to reports, the woman, referred to as Xiaoli (a pseudonym), was receiving a back massage when the owner took photographs without her consent. The images, which revealed the women’s backs and buttocks, were intended for promotional purposes, the owner later claimed.
Upon discovering the incident, Xiaoli was furious and accused the owner of a severe invasion of privacy. She reported the matter to the police, demanding the removal of the video. Although the owner deleted the content, she refused to apologise and offered only a nominal compensation of 500 yuan while insisting that Xiaoli remove negative reviews online. Xiaoli declined, asserting that such service warranted a poor review.
