Don't forget the Marathon Cafe at 165. Ham and egg on a pineapple bun, beef tendon, Hong Kong style breakfast. Pretty good.

Cmon, you can do better than that. Marathon has a good cup of HK Milk Tea, but their food can be much better. I don't even like Cha Kee, but they do better HK style cafe than Marathon.

Haven't tried that place out yet. My go to places are the following.

Hong Kong Wing Tai and Crissly Cafe

The two spas are owned by the same owner. I still can't figure out why she needed both spas side by side. At one point she used to own Dream Inn location as well, 3 spas at the same time and sometimes no girls at Dream Inn location and Sunrise.

BTW...I saw bylaw driving around at 160 EBC plaza this afternoon but didn't seem like he stop anywhere. All the spas are open with Open signs on and every spa seems quite busy. All the spas across the street at 155 and 165 were all closed except DetanDu

I stand corrected and defer to the authentic HK gangsters SMpanties and YYZto.

In my defence I am a gwailo and visited after a Pickyreviewer comment last year in the Sentosa thread. Girl I know was happy with their half sweet tea, and the place was always full with people speaking loud canto.

Are the places you suggested in EBC?

Oh man. Are you going to go down that rabbit hole? There are so many HK style cafes kicking around and they are all good for different reasons. The two mentioned aren’t local to EBC.

I don’t have any particular preference since I am not Chinese and don’t know what it’s supposed to be like.. but lots of decent places kicking around. Generally speaking they all serve good food for a decent value to a great value. Not at all healthy though. My go to places lately have been good catch in the birchmount/enterprise area just because of the convenient underground parking (going there today actually..) and cafe Hollywood because it’s open later in the evening and proximal to some of my friends.

It sounds like some people here should start a good thread

ETA: I also go to those two places because of the big screens makes it easier to watch sports. I will almost certainly be spending more time if Canadian hockey teams go deeper into the playoffs.

You can try old street cafe. They have 2 locations. Their chicken with rice are the best. Haha.
