cool concept - new music every month. Royalty free music. made specifically for massage. You can download it and put it on your MP3 player, or stream it from their site... although so far I can't figure out how to keep it continually streaming and not stopping at the end of each song. t017 still figuring that part out...

have you subscribed to this service? or have you only done the free trial? or did you just find it and think to post it on here?
I think you were the one who first introduced pandora to me! haha!
I enjoyed pandora when it was free with no commercials. Then they started playing commercials, and timing it out after an hour.. That was aggrivating!
But I was so used to this service that I ended up paying the 35$ annual subscription fee to keep the service going.
I enjoy pandora~ But they do repeat the songs quite frequently...

I think it would be a catch 22 to go to another music provider.

Pros about pandora~
5 hour play time
no commercials
customizable genres
Can be used from any PC
Can be played on Black Berry
Links to find out more about artist, and cd

Cons about Pandora~
$35 annual fee
repititon of songs
search feature does not always yeild expected result.

If you are using this service would you be so kind to illistrate a pro/ con list about it?

Ah - I did not know that if you paid a fee for Pandora that you could avoid the commercials...which is why I don't listen to it much anymore.

I tend to get a lot of different songs for the station that I made - but I did a lot of "like" and "don't like" to get there. There was a lot of repitition in the beginning.

I think that it is important to play royalty-free music in your business - for most of us with one cd player I doubt we will be targetted for prosecution.

I read an article ( I think it may have been in Day Spa Magazine) about possible legal problems that you could have in this area. Now the article WAS directed towards a large business with multiple treatment rooms and one sound system....as the fines imposed were based on the number of speakers/rooms music was played through.

Thanks for the other link to bodywork buddy! I will be very interested in the online scheduling addition when it arrives. I use Clickbook currently, and i am 99% happy with them. There are a few things I get a little t013 about, but it's probablly user error

I too had heard about that article~ I believe it was a thread here somewhere, and that it was indeed directed toward a larger company.
I was under the impression that if you paid a subscription fee (like for pandora) you were in turn paying royalty to the music creators? I could be just wishfully thinking though...

I just found this thread - don't want to risk spamming you guys so I'll just say - I'm the co-founder of ASOMAssage Music - and really we're just trying to make it easy for the massage community to get REALLY great new music and not worry about paying licensing fees AT ALL. Our members are officially exempt from paying royalty fees to performing rights organizations (ASCAP, SOCAN etc).

If you have specific artists you enjoy we will take that into consideration - right now we're getting a lot of really great ambient stuff from Europe - Germany, Norway, Denmark etc. So much fun!!!

BTW, Pandora repeats a lot when you don't have a full and varied list. You need to make sure and put things on the shelf for a while in order to make it work better for you.

I am PM'ing both ya'll some info that I wrote about how to get your most out of Pandora and it's got links to some massage music stations I built.
