Bolster colors bug me

Hey folks,

I was about to order some bolsters. Unfortunately, they come in a selection or colors. A decision I was not prepared this morning to make.

It would help if the massage warehouse site had swatches for all of the color options listed; they don't. The link marked "Click here to view all of our color choices" simply doesn't match the choices in the "choose color" dropdown.

Why do bolsters have to come in colors anyway? We just put them under the sheet anyway right? I can just order black (or "agate" for that matter) and be done with it, correct?

Even if the color doesn't matter, do they have to all be colors like mauve and hunter green and beige? They should let MoMA offer a palette.

And just what is the point of putting a perfectionist like me through the anti-climax of making such a choice? :roll:

What color(s) did you choose for your bolster(s)? How? Why?

I picked purple and navy blue to match the color of my tables. I like to have everything in matching hues, tiny pet peeve of mine. Of course no one ever see the color because I use bolster covers. I haven't ever put mine under the sheet before, have to try that out. I remove it when I flip them over then replace it in the new position. Any particular reason for putting it under the sheet? just curious.

That's how we were taught at school... slip under the fitted sheet, protected from bare skin. I didn't even know they made bolster covers until sometime after graduation.

Colour doesn't make anything work any better or worse.

I have heard of people putting the bolsters/pillows under the sheets so that you don't have as much laundry. If the client is actually touching the bolster pillow, you may not need to change the pillow cases after every client, do it once a day. I do it so that when I reach under my client to pull out the pillow that I put under their hips, I lift both sheets, and my client remains draped by the bottom sheet. Even though I'm not lifting the sheets enough to expose my client, I find it gives an extra sense of security.

Its funny what we will over think.

Ego..... pick your favorite color and go with it. OR pick your least favorite color and see if you can come to love it.

Personally I hardly ever use those things. They are hard and uncomfortable in my opinion.

I chose black, my table is burgundy; I figured black would look good with any color table I have and I also have some black accents in my room.

I overthink these details like crazy too.

This is like when I agonized over the color of my table, only to realize after all the time I spent that nobody but me would EVER see it, because it's always covered with sheets.
I say, pick your favorite color. Then, you'll always feel "good" about it, even when you are slipping it underneath the sheet.
You make me giggle. =)

My bolsters perfectly match my tables. And I never, ever mix colors, even though they'd look fine together.

Yep, perfectionism is a pain. I've been known to change my shirt if I can't find the socks to match it....

Always wear mostly white undies and socks.

Bolster? too cheap to buy one, used some nice leather and stuffed it with a dead sleeping bag's guts. It is kinda maroon.

The outcall bolster that I use is a blue pool noodle cut to fit the table's bag's pocket.

I'm going to use that one if you don't mind Most outcalls I have the bodyCushion with me (usually they're pregnancy massage) and don't need a bolster, but the for the non pregnancy ones, I'm ALWAYS forgetting the bolster, pool noodle sounds easy, and if I remember the bolster, whatever! Thanks!

I am a Gemini too and my undies always have to match what I am wearing.

As far as bolsters go though, I rarely use them but at work I have one that is beige for my massage room and when the wet room its white. The one I have at home is blue and not a very pretty blue either.
