might not help everytime does not mean it does not help at all . why does the govt insist on wearing a helmet or a seatbelt .. does it help everytime ? does it save u Reviewom scratches when u have an accident.. but it sure as hell saves ur head Reviewom being bashed in and being dead if and when that accident occurs .. dont it ?

u say its fear of being exposed. and i say thats true. its a big big fear.. but then u say u shouldnt know the law as whats the point..
so lets compare screwing a girl to visiting a bar .. and using a condom to knowing the law and ur rights and ofcourse some cash... and getting aids to being arrested and sent to jail.

Source of information is internal Memo of police dept. Go to main office of police station ( address available on mumbaipolice.com) and information can be got readily. Dance bars are banned but there are many functioning. Police list the one which are functioning and wait for some law breaking steps by them to raid them.

I have been telling you again and again, raids in bars are never conducted bcoz they are running beyond 9.30 pm. They make a false charge that gals were dnacing, obsence gesture, and customers in compromising position.
You know the law, but you are charged with something else whcih you have not done, what will you prove man ?

Have you ever appeared before a judge for jumping the signal or any hearing ?
I was once charged of jumping the signal. I gave license to pandu and opted for not paying fine and appearing before magistrate.
Magistrate asked only one question, On this date, this time, this place, you jumped signal , you will have to pay Rs 100 fine ?
Me :- No Sir I was .....
Judge :- Pay Rs 200 fine.
Me:- Sir, please listen
Judge :- Rs 400
Me :- ok

At present there are 56 dance bars under police scanner
Dance bars are closed in Aug 2005, legally what is open now is just a bar where ladies can work till stipulated time as "waitress" per Bombay Shop Act 1948.(this is applicable to whole maharashtra)

Last quater Reviewom April to June 2010, 23 dance bars are raided and have been ordered to close down.
They were mostly violating 9.30pm close deadline, and other charges of soliciting clients by "female stmpf"


194 customers have been arrested in raids and out of that 17 have been booked under PITA and sentenced to 3 weeks of Jail
PITA stands for Prevention of immoral trmpficking act. When cops raid any bar, finding customer in compromising position leads to arrest.
Many times raids are initiated when cops recieve any complaint of minors working in bars. Many NGO's have complained about this in muumbai earlier

By Dec 2010 the target is to shut down all dance bars which double up as prostitution dens. Most of the owners of these places are advised to shut on thier own.

Been a member for long, but never posted anything. I normally just go here to find info about how to monger as you call it. And for US and Canada it was easy enough.

Now I am going to India for the first time and reading here and there, it seems a bit difficult to go around smpe and monger.

could you answer a few questions I have?

Is it illegal and how risky is it? I am going there for business, so do not have time for sitting in jail for 3 days or even 1 day.

If legal and not risky, how to go about it? I am staying at a 5 star hotel - about 5 mins away Reviewom the international airport, so could you advice where to go and how to do it?

I like going out and have a look first instead of just calling for girls to the hotel room. Seems like going to dance bars is the best in India, but were to go, close by the airport?

There were some undercover star news reviewers who visited orchestra (or dance) bars especially in south mumbai area (girgaum, grant road, mumbai central), captured the action live using their hidden camera and reviewed it on television.They made an entry just before 0900pm to prove it and captured images of girls dancing over the latest bollywood tunes and customers showering money.They also exposed the LE lapse in these cases and also reviewed to R. R. Pati* who in-turn assured that he will take necessary actions against the bars.The media only needs publicity if there is no breaking news in their hands.Pathetic really.

well i called u stupid coz of ur fatalistic attitude bout the cops..
also u were saynig something about knowing the law would not matter as its a matter of reputation or fear of society something.. , how does not knowing the law help u when u get arrested at the bar illegaly? , if u actually understand that they dont have the right if they have picked up patrons without proper cause ..u might just be a bit more assertive while talkin to the cops, a little bit of info and a little bit of cash can help u get outta that jam instead of shittin ur pants, ending up in jail overnight and in court the nxt morning .. where that same reputation of yours will end up in tatters.

im only surprised that u are actually trying to defend yourself. admitted my words were a bit harsh but at the time i coudl think of nothing else to describe ur reply.

also the reason i asked if someone else could send the query is coz a lot of ppl stay independantly and no one else ( family members ) could chance upon and open their mail..
this info would have been useful for everyone .. and there is no risk or no crime being committed in asking such a query .. no one would even bat an eyelid. im pretty sure reviewers ask tonnes of queries such as these.. ,
