When the pandemic started, everything was shut down around the world. Everybody had to stay home from work and school. As a result of the record low consumption of oil, there was a major world glut of oil. Suddenly oil production had to be severely cut, because as Drunk Trump said at the time, there was no place to put it. As a result, gasoline was being given away practically for free. Drunk Trump said himself said that he urged oil producers around the world to cut production. Then when Biden came along, cheques were being handed out to people, things started opening up, people were going to work and school. The same thing was happening here in Canada. Then all of a sudden, oil was in high demand again whilst the supply was very low. It took time to get oil production to start up again to get the supply back to normal. You can't just just flip a switch and work some magic. Gasoline production is a long process. So because oil supply was low, and demand suddenly rose overnight, that's when you saw gas at $2.20/liter. What is it now? A lot lower. Oil production finally caught up with demand. That was actually Drunk Trump's fault that gas prices were high, not Biden's. It's always the current President that has to pay for the previous President's incompetence, not the other way around.

You don't understand his point. The point is, if he was a good businessman, he would be making money, not losing it. Therefore, he'd be paying taxes. The more money a person makes, the more taxes he pays. Duh? So, from an economist's point of view, paying taxes is good thing. It's good for the government, good for me, good for you, good for everyone.

Claiming business losses isn’t losing money.

No smart person pays more taxes than they have to.

That defence was going to be he made the statement while President and therefore part of his official duties. But, his statements in October were when he was out of office and a private citizen there that official duties defence was no longer valid
