Here's something else that hasn't been mentioned. I had a severe outbreak on my hands, which is really awful when you are a massage therapist. Everything burned! Then my hands cracked open. I tried prescription Elidel and had an even moer severe reaction! Seems one in four people experience burning! Well thats great! So I went down to the Health Food store, Whole Foods and found this awesome remedy called True Tamanu Oil. It was pretty expensive ($20 for the size of an essential oil bottle) but it worked almost immediately. It was truely amazing. It cures all kinds of ailments, rashes, burns, acne, psoriasis, even sciatica. They also have a cream which the lady says it works best if you use both, but I just got the oil, because I didn't know if it would work and the cream was $30. Hope this helps. The thing about eczema is it effects everyone differently, and what works for some, doesn't work for others. Mine is only bad in the winter and while they say stay out of the sun, I always have to go to the tanning bed to make it go away. Go figure. (Same for my mom as well)

Well, I might have to try that stuff.  I have psoriasis and I have to tell you, they (companies) always say that their product can help tremendously.  I've never had a product even come close to making it even a little better.  Tanning is the only thing that helps me too.  Well, that and the ocean.  Why are products for these conditions always grouped together.  Psoriasis and Excema are completely different conditions. I dunno  : :-/

ok, everyone has talked about the natural therapies for healing eczema, but no one recommended going to a Dermatologist.  Here's my story.....  I have had eczema all over my body for 2 yr's, and over the past three month's my hands were so cracked that I almost decited to give up being a MT. I thought it was stress, or someting I was eating that caused this.  I spent a few hundred dollars on natural suppliments, oils, lotions, and had consultations with Homeopath's, & Nutritionist's , with NO IMPROVEMENT!!  Finally, my boyfriend insisted that I see a Dermatologist.  The docter identified my eczema on my hands, called CONTACT DERMATITIS which he said is most ofted caused by DISH DETERGENT!!!!  Yes, you heard it DISH DETERGENT.  I was shocked!!!!  Anyway  I was told to never wash dishes without long gloves on, and he suggested only using ceytaphyl, NO OTHER SOAP should be used, and to ware gloves with any chemical cleaners.   I chose to get a cortizone shot, and my hands cleared up in three days! :  I now keep my hands, & body moisterized with organic coconut oil.  It was so valuable to get a real diagnosis, and learn what was irratating my skin.
