hot towel cabi

has anyone ever replaced a heating element it one?

the light works, the power lights are on but the cabi doesn't heat at all. i really don't want to go through the hassle of sending it back, etc. has anyone ever repaired one?

I have only replaced the uv light, however my husband says it could be a fuse but you might want to contact the company to see if a heating element is available. Hot Towel Cabi's are wonderful things until something on it stops working! Goood luck.

you're right, they really rock until...

i was able to pull out my small one and clean it out and up and am using it. it's kinda like my honda - it can't be killed and is much more reliable than the new flashier models.. i'll use it till it dies and then reinvest - money grows on trees, right?

Did you actually take the fuse out? If you have an ohm meter you can hook it to either side of the fuse to make sure it is still good. (I really don't know what I am talking about, my husband is guiding me)He says that is the cheapest way.

By the way, your site looks great! I think it is so neat Spaboom put you up as the feature article of the day! They are warm and friendly people.

an ohm meter? i'm sorry, that just sounds goofy - i'm picturing this lotus-shaped device that plugs into the wall.. anyway, yes i took out the fuse, no i don't have a yoga meter but the fuse wasn't blown.

thanks about spaboom.. i sent them that email - i felt so guilty because i knew that paul spent WAY more time with me than he was supposed to so i wanted to kind of smooth things over. anyway, yes they are warm and friendly ... like the family you would pick if we were, indeed, allowed to do that!

We are laughing our heads off, I like your vision of the ohm meter! My husband suggests to replace the fuse, it is the cheapest way to try to fix it. The old fuse may look ok but still be blown.

They should have them, as will any hardware store. A hardware store woiuld check it for you as well. Most auto parts stores will have the fuses as well, I assume it is a small glass cartridge with metal on the ends?

Great intrepretation of an ohm meter...funny stuff. Very handy tool, I have several, but in the shape of a Multi-meter, so I can test AC and DC voleforum.xxxes too. You can use the ohm meter to test wires, light switches, cords, bulbs (not tulip bulbs though) and fuses, of course. You could also test the element in your cabi thingi. AS well as the hi-limit switch, the on off switch, the power cord, nearly everything in it. All for the low low price of about 8 bucks. Fun for the whole family. t114 And a great Christmas gift.
