Thread went from talking about politics, to personal attacks, to outburst on gay rights (which I don't think anyone really has a problem with, it's just when it's forced to be mainstream), back to politics xD
In reality, even the best intended politicians are corrupted by their parties. You could blame Harper for not investing the billions we made from the Americans with exporting our fuel in the early days into LNG facilities or getting pipelines to the coast. Even Trudeau was pretty good for the first term, but then went quickly to the wayside as he went farther left with his policies (no electoral reform, no price ceiling on cellphone bills, HomeBuyers Program fiasco, sold all our gold).
Now we have the pendulum going back to Pierre. I think he'll do great things in his first term, but the cuts people experience will be too hard and yet another election. He's proposing things that Harper should've honestly started/Trudeau in his early days.
Somehow people think Carney has revolutionized the party despite playing a role in prior budgets, and having virtually the same people in cabinet. He's doing an AMAZING job at presenting this new image of him, and tbh I think the libs just had their leadership race on purpose to slowdown Conservative momentum and make Carney seem like a winner, it's working wonders. Hell, I've seen a video of him grabbing a beer from a random fan and he got +5 cool points from me, and Pierre seems to be floundering a little after campaigning for so long.
What'll happen imo: Pierre will win either a minority or majority (hopefully), and we're still cooked because none of these politicians will make prices go down.
Cope: This hobby will become mainstream again and the Courts will make it legal
