Just thought I'd chime in with my two cents:
I have seen people with scoliosis, completely cleared of it,
via medical massage using Active Isolated Stretching techniques along with doing ongoing work to strengthen the weaker muscles of the body. You would have to see a qualified practitioner to have them fully evaluate your particular curvature to see what they have to say, but it's certainly worth a try. There is also another modality known as Active Release Therapy you could look into as well, though I've not had any exposure to it personally. If you are interested in finding out more about the AIS techniques, go to http://www.stretchingusa.com. This modality was started by Aaron Mattes, who is absolutely a gift to the planet IMHO...His methods are amazing, and have been used on people from professional & olympic level athletes to people recovering from strokes & accidents. The sports & rehab center he has is located in Florida, but his classes are available in a number of other places, and the website can direct you to trained practitioners in various states.
I hope this is of some help to you with your physical issues. Good luck with your career choices as well, and don't give up on your dreams. You never know what is possible unless you try !
