I'm taking home a little more, but not substantially. Mostly because I choose to see less clients than I used to when I was working with the agency. But if I was to see the same number of clients I used to, I would definitely make much more money.

But the main reasons I chose to work independently had not much to do with the money. I mostly wanted to have more control over my clientele, my image, my schedule, how my clients are taken care of, etc.

Yes, I'm a bit of a control freak, and I like things done the right way, ie, my way.
