It is common that in CR many girls may only work a couple of times a month for extra money and they are beautiful.

At the airport a few weeks ago this chick was handing out Pirate Club cards to people coming out... I was kind of amused that she handed one to me when I was with my wife, but I guess we don't really look like the typical married couple.

I told her straight up that the pirate club sucked ass, and she told me it had reopened under new ownership. Shrug.

Umm... thats day, month, year. Pretty standard in rest of the world outside of the US.

I was under the impression that it was a strip club kind of place, but it seems more like a massage parlor. the pictures definitely show a bar there.

$60 & $100 rooms are quite pricey though. has anyone been there since it reopened yet?

went there last week and the girl at the entrance wanted $10 to join the "club" for the night and $25 for a years membership...

you might ask..what do you get? all I could gather was admittance to a bar with girls

The Pirate Club tries again, if only they would listen to us that have visited or would like to use their services. I went in the past but since that time the reviews have been so weak I have not returned.

First order of business...fire the person coming up with these promotions.Just stick to to the tried and tested methods. Provide decent talent at a good price,the traffic will come and word of mouth will do a lot more. Hmmm...maybe this is too complicated a concept to grasp?

The one smart thing they are doing is handing out cards at the airport. It is a good way to snag the newbies who have only heard of the Del Rey (if that).

Depending on word of mouth in San Jose is a crappy plan for a place that (IMHO) overcharges for what they offer. Getting guys fresh off of a plane who have heard about sex in Costa Rica, but have no idea how to find it (I've met guys like this in CR) is pretty much the only way I can see them staying open at their inflated prices.
