Besides from the middleeast it was a good 8 hours flight to reach there ! After Jaco and seeing the Beetle bar is the major attraction we took that 4 1/2 hour ride to Monteverde cloud rain forest. I get to my hotel at 1:30, and as soon as I do they tell me if I want to go to the cloud forest there is a tour leaving at 1:50 PM. I'm hungry and thirsty as hell, but I say we better do it now, better than 7 AM the next morning. So off I go another 25 minutes up a dirt bumpy road to the place that offers canopy tours zip lining through the forest which my son did. I wanted to do the walking tour walking in the rain forests and over the 8 bridges they have. That was great but a little right out of the 'Omen" movie, where I was with lots of people, suddenly I'm all alone, and the wind kicks up making lots of noise, and the rain clouds suddenly move in threaten rain, later the sky opened up and poured rain for 15 minutes, and then it suddenly lets up and is nice again. The rain forest was great, but again it was weird as I almost didn't see any animals, just lots of trees, green plants, small rivers, but no animals.

Back at my hotel I was a little disappointed the main hotel was very nice, but my room was only a small cabin with no TV. I should have just stayed closer to the town in Santa Elena, where all the action is and the hotels and hostels are a lot cheaper than the $100 dollars I paid in the expensive tourist section of the city, but made a few 15 minute walks to town, and killed myself walking back uphill to my hotel. It was great exercise, but maybe I should have taken the taxi more?

Later that night after dinner I went into town with my son for some beers, more Costa Rican beer. They had two places packed with kids ages 18 to about 30 with a few older people like me. There were no 'BROS' or the bad element that Jaco beach had. This was the backpackers, Greenpeace and European, Australian and American nice white kid crowd. There were a few chicks looking like they wanted to get fucked, but nobody was making a move on them. At one bar I commented to by son that these guys look dead, but he said no, they were just chillin. I told my son the 60 year old guys in the Beetle bar had more energy than these guys. Later we went to another place, where they had dancing, that was better, but I was out of my element, so went back to my hotel room to read and relax after that killer up hill walk.

Next morning I booked a ride with Graylines for $ 33 dollars back to San Jose, as I craved the excitement of the city again. The mountains around the city and my hotel weren't that good. I use to have a cabin I shared with by brother in Lake Arrowhead, which had just about the same peaceful environment. It wasn't until you took a trip higher up to the actual rain forest that it was really nice and made the trip worth it. Since I couldn't leave till 4 PM the next day we took a trip to the Reserva Biologica in a cab, and then a 2 1/2 hour hike in the could forest reserva, and that was great, but again where were the fucking animals I only saw a few birds, but no animals like the monkeys.( maybe the animals hide with all these tourist walking in the park?)

I know you were a war hero in Desert storm I Bohemian, but isn't it a shame now what the US Government is doing to our poor service men in regards to prostitution? I wanted to Mepeters, even learned a few Thai words, and of course I know many words already from studying Buddhism and the middle path, but it wasn't to be, maybe next summer or next year? But I think you got a deal for $600 and $61. 40 was a typo unless you work for a airline or 'jumpseat' for free like I use too many years ago? But when I was looking at prices I found one priced at about $650 dollars, but when I didn't book it, later it went up to $800 dollars, with the average price around $1000 dollars, and the cheaper fare to Thailand always involved a stop over in China or Japan, making the total trip hours something like 25 hours! 25 hours to get good pussy, is sure torture, even a direct flight to Thailand is torture, but I guess it's worth it?

So Mepeter's why are the girls in Thailand so much better than the Tica's, Dominion's, Columbians in Costa Rica, and the hot mamacitas in Tijuana? Here is my take, I havent been to South East, but have heard first hand reports from Arab "friends" while I was stationed with Military in Dubai/Bahrain/Saudi. Most of these civilians would fly off to Bangkok for a few days, and they used to show me pictures real porno type pictures with becautiful girls they hung out with. It used to be mostly GFE type full night to few days kind of thing. I think thats the kind of norm there. The "meat marke" scene there is obviously different than the TJ one where is short rolling "transactions". And they certainly dont have the Ficha Fuck situations of there. Most of these guys would in fact arrange with the girls in advance, and these girls would even come to the airport to receive them. The beauty or hottie part or the girls liking you has nothing to do with it. The SEA girls are pure professionals as compared to the emotional walkie-talkies of Mexico. I am not saying they are better. Its just that they provide the full GFE type of service, and you dont have to be a Brad Pitt to get that, its just the norm

I'm working on a theory about some things you hear from mongers in places like Costa Rica and especially SEA where they have tons of prostitutes. You often hear how the providers once you meet them are willing to spend the whole night with you, and often want to be your exclusive 'girlfriend' for the duration of your trip. A lot of these guys because the hooker does that because they really like you, and find you special, or like the idea of staying in a nice hotel with a nice pool hanging out with you.

After you brush off the obvious bullshit stories you hear on these sites and there are many, you are left asking yourself why would a hot little chica give up her free time hanging out with old or fat mongers who just wants to fuck her, and subject her to stories about what a stud they use to be?

My working theory is the girls do that because of the intense competition from other hot prostitutes working the bars. Unless your a 9 in looks you aren't going to get that much attention in bars like the 'Beetle Bar' and more so at ground zero at the Hotel Del Rey's '"Blue Marlin Bar" where the girls are packed in like sardines and they have tons of competition and only a limited amount of mongers who would actually take a chica out of the bar. I'm thinking once a hooker has attracted the attention of a mongers she tries to milk that relationship for all it's worth, besides it's not like Adelitas where she could hurry you up and go get another customer within a half hour, with the intense competition and silicon enhanced big breasts around she would indeed be lucky to get another customer that night, because that many of these girls are part timers and would be happy to snag one well paying monger she could sink her hooks into?

Of course this is just a theory and with my limited experience in these places I can't be sure that is happening, but I think it is to at least a certain extent? How else would you explain it? Another thing I found weird is there is little interaction between mongers and hookers in these bars, it's as everybody is standing around waiting for somebody to make a move. The girls aren't aggressive at all like they are in 'Amnesia' in Tijuana, nor are the mongers too aggressive as they sit there drinking a beer looking at the girls. I had wanted to take a water taxi to Montezuma and stay the night, and let my son make the choice either Montezuma Beech, or Monteverde Costa Rica cloud forest reserve. He picked Monteverde, so I got out my laptop and make a reservation at Hotel Heliconia a hgher end hotel in the middle of all the nicer hotels for $100 dollars a night; it was easy booking on the computer using a service like Expedia. I also had the hotel lobby book transportation to Monteverde, again I had to use the more expensive 'Graylines" as they had a shuttle going to the cloud forest at 9:00 AM for $43 dollars a person, they also had cabs going for about $150 dollars!

Man, the roads in Costa Rica are something else. Full of mostly one or two lane highways where your bus driver plays chicken passing up 3 or 4 other slow moving cars or trucks while another car in coming straight at you in the opposite direction. You also get stuck in traffic a lot. These trips to differnt parts of the country are less then 100 miles, and if Costa rica had freeways or good highways you should make it in about two hours, but for me most of these trips took at least 3 hours, and up to 5 1/2 hours coming back from Monteverde to San Jose when they added a hour because they lost one of our bags giving it to someone else, and me making them go back and retrieve it.

The trip to Monteverde took 4 1/2 hours, and the last 45 minutes of the ride is straight up a rocky dirt road that goes up the mountain while your ass shakes around. Roads like this are common in these central America countries, but I figure with such a high tax rate that Costa Rica should invest in better roads and larger highways. Again Mexico and TJ has very bad traffic, but at least when you are on the highway you can put the peddle to the metal as I hit 100 MPh on my way to San Felipe, you can't do that in Costa Rica.

Another monger board mentioned that there are two other places where you can find chicas after Beetle Bar slows down. It was that other board that said the Cocacabana was chica friendly (but didn't mention chica fee -- $10 charged to room). The hotel is on the ocean, but the rooms don't face it, and it is not great. The rooms are clean, the AC works well (you need it Jaco is a wet sauna). They have wireless in the restaurant/bar. The other monger site said that sometimes chicas hang out at the pool during the day, too. When I was having dinner there were these older guys in their 50s and one of them in who looked in his mid 70s. They are pushing tables together and then four stunning chicas show up that I guess they had booked for the evening (even though I saw one of them a few hours later at the Beetle Bar). I didn't stay there long -- got there after dark, left the next morning. I did see two hotties having a coffee when I was leaving in the morning. I wouldn't stay there if I wasn't mongering.

As far as beaches go, I liked Montezuma (no mongering) and Tamarindo (limited mongering) better. The only thing Jaco has going for it is it is close to San Jose. If I do the water taxi again to Montezuma, I might spend the night in Jaco again. But next time I'll just fly to Tambor and skip Jaco. I liked Tamarindo's beach a lot. The town is still small and laid back. Like I said, it is not a monger paradise, you need to bring your own chick. There were some girls I saw who were propositioning me, but I was with non-mongering friends.

I was at the Tabacon hot springs at Arenal and met this guy who was there with a stunning woman. I figured they were newlyweds. No, he had just met her in San Jose and brought her up there for a few days. Might try that sometime too.

I guess Cocacabana hotel is the place to be? Off hand I couldn't think of the name Cocacabana, but remembered reading about it and it got good reviews, but I was happy with the Poseidon hotel. The Best Western has the best hotel in the area, it's the first one you come to entering Jaco beach, but I understand it's not chica friendly, so mongers avoid the place, and it's a shame because it's really nice.

I give the big edge to Mexican beaches over Jaco beach, places in Cancun kick it's ass in every level, and even Rosarito Beach could give Jaco a run for it's money, as the beach water in both places looks the same, although Jaco has that warm water and nice waves, the waves are even better on the southern beaches. What this beach was missing were small kids, I didn't see any kids. ( when I first walked to the beach, I saw a beach bar, that was cool, but also a black drugged out prostitute fucked up dancing, and guys looking like they were doing drugs, or buying drugs)

Maybe I was there at the wrong time but isn't January suppose to be peak season? Besides the Beetle bar not too much in terms of night life was happening? We also stopped in a non prostitute bar full of young people drinking and playing pool, but right away my son noticed them, they had the "BROS" hanging out in Jaco beach too. A "BRO" is indigenous to the "Inland Empire" places like San Bernardino Calif, but the BRO is spreading to places like the OC, and in fact all over the western US. They are young usually white full of tattoos, obnoxious, loud, and likes to get in fights. The 'BRO' as a counter part called the "Bro Hoes" little loud mouthed beer drinking slut, sometimes very HOT, makes you wonder what they see in the 'BRO?' My son doesn't like the BRO says they crash all his college parties. I don't like them because I see them if I go to bars or casino bars in the Temecula area where I sometimes work. I ask myself where are all the nice white kids without sports caps and tattoos?

There were also crime reports in Jaco, about gunned bandits robbing hotels at gun point, and then going into the tourist rooms, and making the tourist staying there opening their room safe and robbing them too.

I agree about Jaco the town. I stayed at a place called Cocacabana which billed itself as being right on the beach. I made the reservation online with expedia so I could skip the fax the credit card information step that most other hotels in CR have. I also selected Cocacabana since it was girl friendly and I wanted to bring a Beetle Bar girl home. It does have a chica fee.

I guess I was lucky at the Beetle Bar since it wasn't fake tetas night. It was also a weeknight and so it was unlike Adelita in the sense it wasn't packed full of chicas and guys. There were also several guys your son's age there making time with the working girls. I got a great Nica with a smokin' body, cute face and great personality that told me about her problems with immigration (she didn't have a work visa and had to bribe the border guard money. Before leaving San Jose to Jaco, we made a little trip to San Pedro and to the University of Costa Rica, the little college town. Wow, that was nice, seeing all the young coed girls walking to and from class, and all the restaurants and beer bars near by. We stopped at a little vegetarian restaurant because my son is a vegetarian, and I loved loved looking at all the fresh young vegetarian eating ticas having lunch. The banks suck in Costa Rica, you have to take a number instead of waiting in line, and those lines are long. Every bank had at least three guys with guns. In the bridge overpass the Costa Rica cops had automatic rifles. It makes you wonder about the real danger in Costa Rica?

So I kiss my women goodbye a few days into the trip as she had to go back to work. She said for a place she didn't want to go to she liked Costa Rica, except walking at night, but wished we stayed in the resort, she liked the one trip we made to Tortuguero Park, Canal Cruise. It was a nice trip but long, took all day from 6:00 AM to 6M. It was nice, but the thing that got me wondering is where are all the animals? I saw two crocodiles, a few monkeys, birds, and maybe a few other animals, but really not too many. After this I didn't want to make anymore long trips, but I did.

Now it was just my son and me. Since he was away in college except for the summer and holidays I didn't really get a chance to really talk to him, so that was really nice. I'm really concerned about his Buddhism as he doesn't eat meat, or kill tiny animals like flies or ants. But he still drinks and parties so there is still hope he doesn't try to become a monk. I'm just hope he goes to law school like he says, as he has the grades and pretty good LSAT score to get in a good school, but he also wants to backpack in China and Tibet with his buddies first.

So we take a three hour ride with all the stops to Jaco beach. My son didn't want to go there, said reading stuff it's like Rosarito beach Mexico, and besides the book said the town is full of drugs and prostitutes. Instead he wanted to go to Montezuma across the bay, where they have backpackers, hippies like from the 60's and vegetarian restaurants. I said maybe after Jaco, but Montezuma doesn't sound like a place I like.

Finally we get to Jaco beach, and get my room I booked using my laptop and Skype, as your cell phone won't work in Costa Rica. I stayed at Hotel Poseidon, nice little hotel with pool for $95 dollars, very friendly staff, and hot girls working in the restaurant. ( pain in the ass booking a room, you want to fill out paperwork, and then email or fax them the information, and then wait for a reply.)

I'm sorry but I found Jaco beach to be trashy and really not much to do there, and it's over priced because of all the gringo tourist. The beach was kinda nice, the weather fantastic and the water warm. Although because volcanic ash the water looks dirty, and the sand is dark volcanic ash, but the beach is fun to run in as it's very flat.

After a uneventful over priced dinner we walked around and I wanted a beer. The town was basically dead. We passed Beetle Bar and I said lets have a drink. I pretended to be shocked, because the tourist books said both regular girls and prostitutes hang out at these bars, but it was 100% hookers. If I didn't know any better I would think I was in Adelitas it was packed with hookers, and lots of older Americans with the average age about 50. My son was cracking up at all these older white Americans, European etc etc. He felt mongers were pathetic and thought they were all married men. I explained they were not all married men, but more then likely single divorced men, and men who couldn't get a girlfriend, especially a young 20 year old like this bar had. My son was looking at this 60 year old man dancing and raving around like a mad man and was convinced he was on drugs, but I told him, I bet he isn't on drugs, but young pretty women prostitutes give old guys lots of energy. He wasn't convinced said he wonders why guys come way over here for prostitutes when they could get the same thing in Tijuana? My son started putting down the prostitutes too calling them hoes, saying he bets 100 % of these girls have HPV, and why would anybody go with them? He was pissing me off a little, since a few years back his little honey told him she had chlamydia, and he better get a check up, breaking his heart.

I asked him is he better then them? He said no, but they made bad choices.
I told him who is he to judge, born with almost a silver spoon in his mouth, getting sent to Europe to study for a half a year, so unless you live in these girls shoes, don't judge. He looked at me weird, asking me why I'm defending hoes. I said finish your beer, lets go, he couldn't wait to get out of there.

I agree that Costa Rica is described as a paradise on monger boards. Although I liked the country and plan to return...the women are not as hot as people say and the city is not as safe as reported by others.
Plus, the local fare is disappointing.

Here's a tip: There's a microbus service called Inmassageplanet.netus that will go from SJ to Jaco for $19. They have a morning and an afternoon bus. I think the afternoon bus left at 1:30.

I was not blown away with Jaco. I did get to play with a tasty Nica I met at Beatle Bar that made the stop worthwhile. I was in town to take a water taxi across the bay to Montezuma and Mal Pais.

And yeah, San Jose is a maze with hardly any street signs and they don't do house numbers either. A car is nice to have in the rest of the country but nothing but a liability in San Jose.

It's funny you mention 'Clarion hotel' when I first got into San Jose, I stayed in the The Clarion Hotel Amَn Plaza in the Barrio Amَn district, near lot of commercial offices, nice area, and not too far from all the action of downtown and the clubs and MPs where the girls hang out. See I had to pick a nice place that was near the action, but didn't have prostitutes right outside.

I traveled with my women, I don't discuss if I'm married or not anymore, so it could be a wife, lover, or girlfriend. I also took my 21 year old son you just graduated early from college. I at first was planning a trip to Thailand, but my women said she didn't want to go, and told me to take my son, but soon started bitching about Thailand telling me shit like 'go ahead if you want to get your dick sucked by young little tit girls that also like to take it up the ASS! So I just changed travel plans, and thought Costa Rica would be cool too. But I did have my heart set on Thailand, especially since my son claims he is and an 'Buddhist' and wanted to see a Buddhist country, and temples. I wanted to see the temples too, and while my son would be checking out the Buddhist lifestyle, and enlightenment, I would check out the hedonistic way to nirvana. Since the travel plans got missed up, my women would be only be able to spend 3 days in Costa Rica, and then go back to the states early, while I stayed with my son taking in the sights. Good plan, meaning I'd have time to monger a little, while my son explored the city on his own, but it didn't work out that way.

My women and son were disgusted with downtown San Jose, especially at night when all the lowlifes, bums, mentally ill people, trannys, and especially the prostitutes come out at night. They both went out of their way to cross the street if prostitutes were outside their bars or MPs talking to each other. My son really seemed to have a phobia against hookers, and I asked him what's the matter? He said, he didn't have a phobia, but you shouldn't subject your women to those hoes!

During the day San Jose is pretty nice, but in lot of ways reminds me of Tijuana, and East Los Angeles with hills, but man does it change at night, no wonder everybody tells you to take a taxi at night, because of the DANGER. You know me, fuck the danger, it's only a few bums and hookers, but I do admit some of those bums who are fucked up in the head sure can scare you as they come right up to your face asking for money with cup in hand, but the other people can sometimes look dangerous, but they leave you alone. There are some reports in San Jose, that trannies were robbing gringos at the park late at night, but that situation was cleared up? Personally, I think it's pretty sad to be scared of trannies, and worst to get mugged by one on the streets.

During my women's last day I was looking to make travel arrangements to Jaco beach with my son, but didn't like the fact that Grayline only had a 7 am or 3 pm trip for $25 dollars. So I said lets go check out the $6 dollar bus and see if I could buy the tickets and find out more information as they leave at 10;30 AM. According to the map the Coca Coca bus terminal was about 8 blocks to the west, and three blocks up from my hotel, beside the international market was on the way. What a mistake, fucking San Jose doesn't have street signs on lot of the streets, so you don't know where the fuck you are, and that's just walking, no fucking way I'd ever rent a car there, as you have to use landmarks to find your way at times.

So we were going in the right direction but already passed more then 8 blocks and asked the Cops for directions, and he said your going to the way but it's a few more blocks, and he warned us that's it's extremely dangerous in this area even in day time. But we continued anyway, and it got really bad, that streets were packed with people, all of them it seemed very poor, lots of street people, and I'm sure crooks waiting for rob tourists who would dare to come to this part of town. My women got visibly shaken at the experience at the trash in the street, the bums coming up to you, and especially this old prostitutes that looked to be about 70 years old. Finally, I said fuck it, I'll take the early morning Grayline for $25 dollars, and won't ride with the chickens for $6 dollars later in the morningamn was it hard to flag down a taxi in this area of town. I give the dangerous edge to Costa Rica especially at night and certain areas, but during the day San Jose is very nice.]

I didn't see how you were setting up this review on the other thread. Makes sense. I'm on record here or that other board defending Mexico and TJ especially since yes, some seem to paint Costa Rica as this perfect monger paradise. The area around the gulch in San Jose is dangerous at night. Especially going through the park from HDR to the Clarion Hotel. The roads in Costa Rica make the Mexican road system look like the German Autobahn. With all its faults, I'm not going to say it is worse than TJ, nor am I going to say it is better. I'm just glad there's both.

I'll be the first to admit bashing another country is stupid, but you forget where I come from and the forum where I post the most things. It's a site that bashes the shit out of Mexico and especailly Tijuana, yet the guys come back again and again. When they talk about places like Costa Rica, or Thailand, they make it sound like paradise, with no negatives, so my report is going to be a little different. looking at the bad first, and then the good. Oh yes we often hear Americans complain about Mexico's checks in restaurants. That's common too in the world, but in Mexico, I think the people think it's a polite thing to do, as they don't want to rush you, and when you are ready, just ask for the 'la cuenta' and they bring it right over. I think it's a little rude in places like IHOP you order you food, and right away they bring the check, but then again it's IHOP so it's not a big thing, I don't mind at all having to ask for the check in Mexico, because I know it's the custom, but bad service or indifferent service should never be the norm IMHO.

BTW this is my second trip to Costa Rica, as I made a trip many years ago when I was newly married. So I didn't get a chance to monger then, and barely got a chance to monger now, as I did explore most of the popular tourist places in Costa Rica this time, so wait till I bash the roads, what a nightmare! I use to get around quite a bit as I worked for a company that got airline benefits of 50% and sometimes I just paid taxes, the down side is you had to fly standby which usually works well, but sometimes you end up sleeping in the airport. I do get around, but I'm not a big international mongerwho goes to these countries to fuck prostitues, but rather it's to relax and act like a regular tourist.

So lets continue, since I don't get airline benefits directly anymore. I flew regular airlines, looking at airline sites directly, like Sprit Airlines, Taca, etc, and Expedia, Orbitz, and what works better "trip advisor' and "Booking buddies" that can seach all at once. Guys make it sound so easy and cheaply about going to Costa Rica, but you have problems. Sure 'Sprit Airlines" has a cheap fair of $ 179, the problem is you have to fly to Ft Lauderdale first and the trip takes something like 13 hours.( Sprit Airlines has many customer service issues) There are a few direct flights to Costa Rica, but again you have to seach good, because most of them have at least one or two stops, or you pay more for a direct flight, but if your lucky you can get something like American Airlines for $340 directly. I wasn't lucky as someone in my party, was limited when they could go and come back, so I ended up paying about $450 with one stop in Houston, and on the way back you have to rush to clear customs and catch another flight within the one hour window, lucky my flight was running late.

Again, it's takes good seaching to find both a direct flight to Costa Rica, and one with a good price, and you need flexibility with good internet seaching ability.

So were you expecting Costa Rica to be just like the US or Mexico? I've been there twice in the past six months and didn't find the problems you did. I can't wait to go back. The people are great, the country is beautiful, and it relatively cheap. You do have to get out and see the country while you are there -- outside San Jose and Jaco there's not much mongering potential, but there's more to life than that.

There are the enviable comparisons in the mongering scene between San Jose and I feel it is completely manzanas y narajas. I love them both. Costa Rica gives you lots of variety in terms of nationalities, while Tijuana gives you variety in terms of mostly Mexicanas. Variety is the spice of life.

[also, the IVA in Baja is 10%, but it is 15% in the rest of Mexico so your rant about sales taxes in CR being extreme between Mexico isn't so solid. I also think that Tijuana is more like the US in terms of service industry attitudes and less like the rest of the country. Getting the attention of a waiter or waitress when you want more coffee is pretty standard in most countries. And of course, you'll never get the check unless you ask in Mexico]

How about another fucking cup of coffee please? I of course didn't say that, as I don't want to be an 'ugly American' but I sure thought it in my recent trip to Costa Rica. I couldn't stand their indifferent service in restaurants. I don't blame the Costa Rica people, as they are friendly,especially in the hotels, but you see Costa Rica puts a 'service charge' of 10% in the bill already that serves as a tip so these people don't go out of their way to provide great serivice in resuarants, so the service even in the better restaurants runs from poor to fair. ( you see the same type of service even in the the US like Miami that also imposes a 15% service charge, and you get the same shitty service in many places.) Oh I forgot to talk about the 13% sales tax! What the fuck is that about? Where does the money go? Costa Rica doesn't have a army, instead puts their money in education, social programs, and the rain forest? But the people don't look like they benefit from such a high tax rate, it must go to goverment waste, although the Social Security building looked nice with many people.

So just about every time in a restaurant I wanted another cup of coffer or another beer, and I had to practically beg for it by waving my hands. At no time did a waiter come by and ask 'how is everything?" The owners sometimes did, but never the waiters. The waiters were nice, friendly competent, and nothing like the French, but it did upset me a little that they never went out of their way to provide good service. Service in both the US and Mexico beats the hell out of the service in Costa Rica. [edge to Tijuana]

The beer sucks in Costa Rica in my opinion. Costa Rica has three major beers wtih Imperial being the most popular, followed by Pilison, and the light and dark Bavaria that lacks flavor of a good Mexican beer. At first you think the beer is good, but by the second it starts to taste lke piss, and I couldn't even finish a 3rd beer as it starts tasting like piss water getting me sick. I saw a young punk American ask for a Budwiser and said to myself, what a idiot, but after my second Imperial, I said, the guy had a good idea, as Costa Rica should import BUD, and sell it as a upper class imported beer, compared to the piss water of Costa Rica beer. Thank God that Costa Rica also makes Heineken locally, and sells it in most bars. ( some say Costa Rican beer is similar to Mexican beer? I don't think so, maybe at first, but not my the 3rd beer. I could finish 10 Mexican beers in a bucket myself, but not this beer. ( edge to Mexican beer)

Ironically, I said I hated the service in the restaurants, but it was one of my favorite things to do in San Jose, as they do have some good higher end restaurants with a international flavors making you feel like your in top international city, but when you leave the restaurants, you tell yourself it really wasn't that good. Tin Jo, is a good example, it's a Chinese, Asian everything fushion restaurant serving Asian food from as far away as Thailand, Japan, india, etc etc and surpriseingly they do it good without one Asian working in the place, and it's weird this restaurant makes the Costa Rica on a budget book, and higher end books. Some of these restaurants try to be something to everybody, and that's impossible. ( restaurant ambiance goes to Costa Rica, of course you need a lover to eat with or it does nothing for you)

Fuck the cheap food in Costa Rica as it's plane awful or not especially memorable as really they don't have their own food to claim their own, except for gallo pinto a mixture of rice with little black beans they serve everywhere, it's healthy but I got tired of it real fast, get me my Mexican beans and rice severed separately everytime. Maybe that's why there is so much international food in Costa Rica, because they don't really have their own food? ( edge to Mexico in food, especially in cheap food like tacos, although Costa Rica has more variety, and vegetarian food and fusion restaurants that try to do everything)
