The range presented sounds reasonable. The length of the session does need to be factored in.
For some massage stars, I tip the equivalent of the room fee just for that part of the visit, then add the typical service fee for service provided. At the minimum, massage only if done well deserves the equivalent of the RMT rate.
And like Flashman I tend to pay what is asked, but don't revisit if the ask is beyond reason. And I too like when a lady shows appreciation for a higher tip that she actually earned through effort, skill, and being fun and personable.
I visited JR 3 times over a period of 7 days and even tipped Cici the receptionist $20 after the last visit because she is so competent, direct, and pleasant. Should have seen her face, priceless!
