Wrinkled sheets

How do you keep your sheets wrinkle free? I not about to iron them and I'm not busy enough for a laundry service. I am still working full time and massaging during my free time. I've tried pulling them out of the dryer right away. My mother-in-law suggested shaking out the sheets and folding them a little before putting them in the dryer. That's helped a bit, but I'm still having problems. My sheets even say they are wrinkle-free. Ugh! Should I try starching them? t017

Personally, if I was a client, I would definitely want to be lying on wrinkled sheets vs. starched sheets... I have tried everything to get over this problem my self, but nothing so far, even my flannel sheets wrinkle. So if you do find a solution let me know. I have even purchased from a hotel distributer, and nothing, the hotels must press them before putting them on the beds...

My sheets are always wrinkled, but my top blanket always hides all wrinkles from the client . Do you use a top blanket?

Tips for less wrinkled sheets:


1. Use a cotton/poly blend. Polyester wrinkles less then, and releases wrinkles easier/faster than cotton
2. Shake out/elongate and semi-fold sheets as you put them in the dryer. (BTW-this also works with jeans!!) I don't really completely unwad and shake out the sheets, kind of pull them out of the washer to their full range of motion
3. Check your dryer half-way through, and unwad the couple pesky sheets that are in a giant, twisted ball. (set your kitchen timer if you find you can't remember)
4. Don't overdry sheets. Use the sensing option if you have one on your dryer. Drying to hot crispness sets wrinkles.
5. Remove sheets promptly from dryer

Smooth out and tighten sheets on massage table to improve appearance, because really, you can't get rid of all the wrinkles unless you iron.

Blankets, as mentioned above, are a good way to hide remaining wrinkles, if you don't use a blanket, consider some type of decorative throw which matches the decor of your room which you remove when starting the massage.

I find taking them out of the dryer promptly (while they are still hot) helps minimize the wrinkles. I also use a blanket on top of the sheets which minimizes the visibility of wrinkles from the clients viewpoint.

i have been using a top blanket. i live in texas, so it will look kinda silly to have a blanket on during the summer time. : i lightly fold the sheets before laying them in the dryer and even was standing in front of the dry as it turned off. they were still wrinkled. someone suggested lowering the heat. i've been drying them on high heat for 50 mins. maybe that's too much. the experimenting will continue. t048

Sometimes I use Ultra Downy Advanced fabric softner for Wrinkle Control. *shrug* Does it help... can't really tell, sometimes I think so though... I use flannels mostly. I think how tightly the washer and dryer is packed and taking them out promptly is a factor as well.
It might have to do with the quality of the sheets though... I mean some of those cotton sateen are gorgeous... but have more wrinkles coming out of the dryer more than a Sharpei puppy.... LOL

i have found a couple of things that work....

1. don't pack your dryer full.

2. don't put the sheets on high heat...or if you do, put it on perm press for the last few minutes

3. don't dry them too much.

4. be sure to shake them out before throwing them in the dryer and as others have said, check on them about 1/2 way through.

i only put my sheets in the dryer for 20 minutes. the first 10 minutes on high, the next 10 on med. i never put more than 5 or 6 individual sheets in the dryer at a time. i never have a problem with wrinkling. of course, they are not perfectly pressed and flat, but wrinkle free for the most part.

i'll try the shorter drying and lower heat. maybe that's the key. i'm only washing two sets at a time with a couple hand towels. i don't think that's a lot.

i find this to have most effect. i was washing 4 sets at a time. now i only do 3. little to no wrinkles for me

I have lovely cotton sateen sheets, as mentioned by Maestra. It took me a few tries to get the wrinkles in check. I now launder only 6 sheets + 3 face cradle covers at a time & don't put towels or blankets in with the sheets. I dry the load on permanent press heat sense cycle & there are absolutely NO WRINKLES. (unless my husband helps me out with the laundry! ha ha) true, I cannot do a day's work in one load anymore, but everything is squeeky clean - no oil or lotion stains whatsoever - and truly wrinkle free. Laundering like this, even if I forget the sheets in the dryer for too long, I can simply refresh the dryer cycle & they look great. Before figuring this out, I always felt like I had to apologise for the wrinkles.
