I went to two spas in EBC area today. Business as usual. Don’t want to say too much at this time.

One of the changes I think we should make is having a more screened forum. Instead of letting just random new accounts see everything, definitely require some level of participation or vetting. Keeps the heat down a bit. There are some TG groups that do this - no owners, no shills. Just more active discussion.

While I believe that may be the case at some point and time. I think it may be further away than that. The condo market has completely fallen off and with developers cancelling projects it will be at least 10 years before that happens.

They've merely adapted a pay later model. Having a RMT on staff and having 5 assistants will lead to fines. They are just delaying the inevitable. Either pay for a body rub license now or pay fines later. Same same .

I don’t think owners mind to pay for the license. The concern is if they can get the license. Also, if the girls want to register; I heard most girls don’t want to register.

Carjackings by revolving door out on bail losers. Tow truck wars with fires and shootings on residential streets, one house shot up 5 times before a murder. Home invasions now by the car thieves between bail hearings. Criminal offences carried out over and over again by the same likely suspect. Homeless guys lighting up random strangers on fire on the subway. Homeless guy on bail for assault stabs 3 random people over the last week, arrested Sunday, bail on Monday I believe. The point?Seems like priorities for law enforcement agencies should be focused on that sort of shit rather than a bunch of middle aged immigrant woman doing a range of sex work to fulfill a substantial and growing demand for the services provided.

Yet some here argue that this is a criminal code issue or enforcement issue. It is strictly by-law. By-law usually gets involved in permits at the time of application or due to complaints. So the issue is one of compliance. Some have argued hard to get a license, but I have seen no evidence that there is a limit or that such licenses are hard to get; in fact the warnings they are getting are saying that those things are needed to rectify the issues being raised. How worried are girls about getting the license? Some say they have heard girls are hesitant because of the risk of the information becoming public (one minimal mileage lady I know is looking into it). How public are the records of these licenses. No evidence presented that anyone can find out who has license and whether such information is available.

Let's keep reporting facts, and see where this goes. No need to mention particular places, discretion is prudent at the moment; but visits and staffing levels or changes are of interest and should paint a broader picture of what is happening at the moment.

Per a body rub parlour licence holder in Toronto many years ago this was an issue then and as far as I can tell remains an issue when it comes to one specific group of women for many of whom a body rub licence has a stigma attached.

In Toronto at least, there's another consideration too.

"A. No body-rubber or operator shall be employed by or be under contract for services to more than one owner or in respect of more than one body-rub parlour, at the same time." Toronto Municipal Code, 545-338

Currently all of these spas are violating zoning because none of them are complying with the By Laws. A subset of these spas can apply for a Body Rub license (and a few of them are already doing this). It depends on the specific zone the spa is located in. All the others are shit out of luck unfortunately...unless this all dies down somehow.

I don't know if there are Body Rub license limits for RH but the zones have already been mapped out for years...I don't know what specific criteria they used to determine which zones are permitted to have BR licenses but some of the spas that are allowed to have them are very close to residential neighbourhoods and day care centres so who knows.

I thought that 155/160/165 we’re all zoned the same, except that 160 has some specific exclusions. There was a bylaw number but I never looked it up.
